‘Sixteen Going On Seventeen’ is a song written by Lamont Dozier and recorded by American singer-songwriter Stevie Wonder for his eleventh studio album, Songs in the Key of Life (1976).
The song was released as the first single from the album on October 31, 1976. The single topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart for three weeks and became Wonder’s best-selling single at that time. The single also peaked at number two on the UK Singles Chart.
It was later included on Wonder’s 2008 compilation album, A Time to Love: The Very Best of Stevie Wonder (2008).
