hugh laurie playing piano on house

Hugh Laurie is a famous actor, writer, and musician. He has been the host of many award-winning shows such as A Bit of Fry and Laurie, Kaleidoscope, The House Next Door, and The Simpsons.

It is possible that Hugh Laurie plays piano on House because he likes playing the piano and in the show, there are many songs played by him. In addition, I think that Hugh Laurie plays music during the breaks of House because if you listen carefully you can hear some tunes being played when characters have their break.
In addition, when there are only two episodes left in the season then it seems that they always play a song at night time with a very slow tempo. I think this is to make the audience feel sad and give them more time to think about what will happen next in the show!

Yes. Hugh Laurie is a talented singer and musician. He plays the piano, guitar, saxophone, harmonica, and drums. He has a couple of great albums. Hugh is extremely knowledgeable about early American blues, jazz, and bluegrass. If you haven’t seen him in concert or listened to his albums, I recommend you do.

Hugh Laurie – Unchain My Heart (from Ocean Way Studios)

Hugh Laurie performed “Unchain My Heart” on the 13th February 2019 as part of ITV’s ‘From The Heart’ broadcast.

He most certainly plays the piano like in House M.D. for real. In fact, Hugh Laurie is not only a gifted actor and comedian but also a very talented (jazz) musician.

I’ve had the pleasure of being at a concert once he gave in 2013 with the Copper Bottom Band at the Concertgebouw Amsterdam which was really good, I recall.

He also plays more than just the piano, as you can see below. And not just guitar, but sax and other instruments too.

Hugh Laurie and the Copper Bottom Band at Union Chapel sing “You don’t know my mind”.

Hugh Laurie and the “Copper Bottom Band” at the Union Chapel Highbury, London 4th May 2011. I’m a big fan of the man but feel he falls a little short as a blues singer. Somehow his voice doesn’t match the music- not his fault, but I do appreciate his enthusiasm. His band are first rate – well done guys. Sound quality is not of the best but, Hey, Buy the Record !
